"I do not agree with the installation of a US military base on Czech Republic territory, as part of their NMD (National Missile Defense) project. The implementation of this project is increasing international tensions, generating a new arms race and is the first step towards the militarization and control of space. Since more than two thirds of the Czech population are against this project, I think it is only fair that the Czech people have the right to decide on such an important question by means of a referendum."

The Peace Economy Project has long been hosting a community BBQ every third Friday of the month and plans to continue this tradition! Recently that monthly date has become part of the “Iraq Moratorium ” movement and PEP has signed on in support of this cause.
The Iraq Moratorium focuses on the following commitment:
“I hereby make a commitment that on the Third Friday of each and every month, I will break my daily routine and take some action, by myself or with others, to end the War in Iraq.”
These events are made possible with great help from Greg Stevens of Peace Institute Printing and Andy Ayers of Riddle’s Penultimate Café and Wine Bar.
